NWU previously offered Option‑B Master’s degrees that combined theoretical modules with a mini‑dissertation. The university has since transitioned to pure research Master’s degrees, consolidating all theoretical content into the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Nuclear Science and Technology with Nuclear Technology Management.

 

What the PGDip Offers

The PGDip provides the theoretical foundation required for the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Engineering Sciences with Nuclear Engineering and Nuclear Technology Management, equipping students with the knowledge needed to specialise in nuclear technology management. It is designed for both recent graduates and working professionals.

 

Inclusive Admission Routes

The PGDip entry pathways ensure that students from varied academic backgrounds can access nuclear studies. Eligible qualifications include:

  • BEng/BIng, BSc (Eng) (NQF 8)

  • Three‑year BSc with Physics and Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Computer Science at second‑year level (NQF 7)

  • BTech or Advanced Diploma in Engineering with ≥ 60% final‑year average (NQF 7)

  • BEngTech (NQF 8)
