The library person. The cafeteria regular. The always-outside person. The “I’ll just quickly print something” person. Wherever you spend your time on campus, chances are it says a little more about you than you realise.
There are many ways to experience university. Some people treat campus like a second home. Others arrive for class, disappear immediately afterwards and somehow still know exactly where everything is. Some have a favourite study spot that nobody is allowed to know about. Others can tell you where to get the best snack between lectures without even thinking about it. And then, some seem to have permanently claimed one particular corner of campus.
Whether you’re at the North-West University for the first time or you’ve been around long enough to know which route gets you to class fastest, your favourite campus hangout might reveal more about your personality than you think. So, where do you spend most of your time?
The Library Person 📚
You don't simply go to the library. You have a relationship with the library. You know which seats have the best lighting, which tables have plugs nearby and, most importantly, which areas are quiet enough to actually get some work done. You arrive with a laptop, headphones, water bottle and enough stationery to open a small office. Your friends know better than to call you during your study sessions. You have deadlines. Goals. A plan.
But let's be honest: there's a 50/50 chance that you've spent the first 25 minutes organising your notes, changing your desktop wallpaper, making a new study playlist and deciding what font your headings should be before doing any actual studying.
Your personality: Organised, focused and slightly perfectionistic. You like knowing what's happening and preferably knowing about it before everyone else.
Your campus superpower: You can turn almost any quiet corner into a productive workspace.
The Cafeteria Regular 🍔
You don't ask, “Where should we eat?” You already know. You have your usual order. You know roughly when the queues are longest. You have opinions about the menu. Strong opinions. Your friends don't necessarily have to invite you for lunch. They simply know where to find you. The cafeteria isn't just somewhere to grab food between lectures. It's where conversations happen, friendships are formed, and approximately 17 different stories are exchanged before everyone remembers they have somewhere to be. You probably also know people from several different courses because, somehow, everyone eventually ends up at the same table.
Your personality: Social, approachable and always ready for a quick chat, even when you technically have somewhere else to be.
Your campus superpower: You can turn “Let's grab something quickly” into a full two-hour catch-up.
The Always-Outside Person 🌳
If the weather is even remotely decent, you are outside. Why sit indoors when there is fresh air, sunshine and somewhere comfortable to sit? You can be found somewhere between lectures, sitting with friends, scrolling through your phone, eating lunch, having a conversation that started 40 minutes ago or simply enjoying five minutes of peace. You know that campus isn't only about lecture halls and deadlines. Sometimes you just need to sit outside and reset. You are also probably the person who says, “Let's sit outside,” whenever someone suggests meeting up.
Your personality: Easy-going, adaptable and probably more relaxed than the rest of us.
Your campus superpower: Finding the perfect spot to decompress between classes.
The “I’ll Just Quickly Print Something” Person 🖨️
You are always on a mission. “I'll literally be five minutes.” Except… you won't. There is always something. A document needs printing. A file needs downloading. Your laptop suddenly doesn't want to cooperate. You forgot your student card. The printer is busy. Someone else's document is 46 pages long. And somehow, your quick printing mission becomes a full campus adventure. But you're resourceful. You know where to go when technology decides to test your patience, and you've probably developed an impressive ability to solve problems five minutes before a deadline.
Your personality: Spontaneous, adaptable and surprisingly calm in situations that would have other people panicking.
Your campus superpower: Somehow getting things done at the very last minute.
The “I Know Everyone” Person 👯
You cannot walk across campus without greeting someone. A five-minute walk can easily become a 30-minute journey because you keep bumping into people you know.
“Hey! How are you?”
“Long time!”
“Wait, you're also doing that module?”
“Guys, have you met…?”
You might not remember everyone's name, but everyone seems to know yours 💀😆
Your personality: Friendly, outgoing and effortlessly connected.
Your campus superpower: Turning acquaintances into a community.
The Between-Lectures Wanderer 👀
You have mastered the art of killing time. There's an hour before your next class? Perfect. Time for a walk. Maybe you'll get coffee. Maybe you'll browse around campus. Maybe you'll find somewhere to sit. Maybe you'll bump into a friend. You don't necessarily have a destination. You're just… going. And somehow, you always arrive at your next lecture exactly two minutes before it starts.
Your personality: Curious, independent and not particularly interested in rushing through university.
Your campus superpower: Knowing campus like the back of your hand, even if you couldn't explain exactly how you got there.
The “I Study Better With My Friends” Person
Technically, you came to campus to study. Technically. But somehow, your study session includes snacks, music, conversations, laughter, at least one “okay guys, let's actually focus”, and absolutely no one focusing. Still, you wouldn't have it any other way. For you, university isn't just about getting through the work. It's about having people around you while you do it.
Your personality: Collaborative, energetic and people-oriented.
Your campus superpower: Making even the most stressful assignment feel slightly less stressful.
So… what does your campus personality say about you?
Maybe you're a library regular. Maybe you're permanently attached to the cafeteria. Maybe your friends have to physically drag you indoors when it's time for class. Or maybe you're a combination of all of them. Because that's the thing about university: there isn't one right way to experience it.
The places you study, eat, relax, meet friends and occasionally panic over an assignment become part of your university story. And years from now, you might not remember every lecture or every deadline.
But you might remember that one table where you and your friends spent hours talking. The spot where you always sat between classes. The cafeteria order you had on repeat. Or the random campus walk that turned into one of your favourite memories.
So, what's your campus personality?
And more importantly… where can we find you?
