At the NWU, Residence Services is responsible for the smooth operation of housing and residences on each of the NWU campuses in Mahikeng, Potchefstroom, and Vanderbijlpark.

We also guarantee a safe, hygienic, and well-maintained residence environment that promotes learning. Campus housing will play a big part in your university experience. To our students, residences are the heartbeat of campus life. Your residence will become “home” very quickly. It is a place where friendships are shaped and strengthened, and where cultural differences are discovered and treasured.

Day Houses Residences:

You might be wondering what the difference is between a day house residence and a campus residence... Well, students who live in rooms, apartments, cottages, or their parents’ places instead of in on-campus residences still take part in the organised student life activities by joining one of our “day houses”.

Due to space restrictions, on-campus housing isn’t always available to all students on the Potchefstroom campus. For this reason, many students make use of private accommodation. To make the house hunt a little easier, this campus founded an initiative that assists you in finding the perfect private accommodation. More than 75% of the students studying at the Potchefstroom campus have to pass by three other universities to get to Potchefstroom. This means that their parents cannot necessarily make the time to find suitable accommodation for their children. Pukki Accommodation takes care of this problem using a quality-controlled and easily accessible system – a website and an office on campus. Contact them on 018 100 0040 or visit www.nwupukkiverblyf.co.za for more information.

Vanderbijlpark Campus

This campus offers its students 12 residences, of which five are located on campus, and five are in the Vanderbijlpark area.
